My Approach - A Wedding with Wendy

I believe in the power of a photo to tell a story, and know there’s no better way to share your love story than through your wedding photos.

My photography style is a mixture of photojournalism and portraits.

As an unobtrusive observer, I capture the spontaneous, intimate moments as well as all of the precise details you’ve carefully prepared. I collaborate with you to take formal portraits, and - of course - I leave time to escape with you and your partner for those romantic shots. It’s important to me to tell the story of your wedding day as it unfolds and to authentically reflect your relationship.

I choose to limit the number of weddings I do a year so that I can give each couple my full and personal attention.  

Choosing and wedding photographer is a big decision. When you make your choice, you must not only like the photographer’s style – you must like them. When you have a good relationship with your photographer, you achieve better results.

I love the magic and romance of wedding days, and I would be thrilled to capture yours.

How it Works

Stunning wedding photos capture so much more than your special day. They reveal a deep history of love, romance and friendship; and they honor a lifetime more to come.

It’s important that I get to know you as a couple before. I approach each wedding individually, so I can take photos that are personal to you as a couple.

During your wedding, I try document the event - the story, the emotions, the details and the romance - as it takes place.

We’re lucky to celebrate your day amongst the stunning landscapes of Central Otago. Many couples choose to advantage of the natural beauty of the Wanaka and Queenstown area to create some gorgeous shots of the two of them.

After the wedding, I professionally edit each image; I perform 'soft' adjustments to ensure that the image reflects the scene while maintaining the images integrity so they don’t look over-edited. The images are presented to you on your own online gallery.

You will be able to choose your favorite images for your wedding album and to be framed for your home. Once I design your wedding album, you will be able to review it online before it is printed.

Packages and Pricing

Your photographer is one of the most important investments of your wedding day, as they capture all the special moments big and small.

My pricing structure is flexible. I understand that the photos you want - from frames, to albums, to digital copies - will be as unique as your wedding. While I offer photography packages and an ‘a la carte’ price list, I prefer to create custom packages that are specific to you.

I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of having printed images of your special day in some form or another. With framed photos around your house, you’ll be reminded of your wedding every time you walk past. I also encourage you to consider an album. I chose one for my wedding, and love that its right there on my coffee table to be enjoyed not only be me but my children also.

I’ve carefully selected to work with Queensberry in New Zealand for wedding albums and prints. They offer superior quality products.   I also work with framers whose work matchs the high standards that I expect.
