Women have a boudoir shoot for a variety of reasons , for themselves as a confidence boost, celebrating their body after a change, a gift for their loved one, because they deserve it.  I even have husbands requesting shoots for their wife’s, so that “she can see the beauty that I see”.

Boudoir photography is a genre of photography where a women is photographed in the most flattering way, while being sensual and seductive.  It is classy, modern and an experience that I recommend to all women.   It’s so rewarding and empowering.

As we all know women are hard on themselves and their body image.  This is a way to move past that.  Celebrate who you are right now and have something of yourself for you and/or your loved one to cherish. 

I always ask, what do you like about your body and what don’t you like, often the client  will tell you want they don’t like about themselves before they will tell you what they like.  This was no different for me.  In fact I told my photographer I didn’t like my back, I now have a framed piece of art on my bedroom wall which includes my back, which I love.

A boudoir photo shoot is for all women of all ages including and often mums.

Really there is nothing more beautiful or sexy then a women celebrating her body and being comfortable in her own skin.

This photoshoot was taken at the family home in early Autumn. 

I’m always nervous before a photoshoot, will the clothing work, how is the light, what is my background, but I’m never really nervous about the kids.  I haven’t had a session yet when I haven’t been able to work with the children.  For me my first task it to create a connection with them, so that they relax and I can direct them while still having some fun.

Matt & Laura’s kids were an absolute delight, the clothing was perfect and their were several options around the house to shot from.  Just as importantly we had fun.    I was able to capture their personalities as well as those all important family images.  

Loved the feedback from Laura the next day where she told me that the kids had asked if I was coming back to play.  They had fun and so did I!

I believe that images should be on display for all to enjoy, as memories and art pieces.  I was delighted that Laura selected six images to be framed and be displayed around her lovely home.

What is a lifestyle newborn shoot? 

A lifestyle newborn photoshoot is generally at your home and is all about the connection and love between the family members, including siblings, and the baby.  This style of shoot is less posed and more natural.  Think of it as a photographer looking in on your environment and capturing those special moments as they unfold.  

It’s about capturing your story with beautiful natural images of your new baby.

Of course I do give direction to ensure I can create amazing memores of this special time in your life.  I incorporate your ideas and any special items that you would like to include. 

The shoot is relaxed and designed to fit your routine and your babies needs.  There are of course lots of cuddles.
